We, the graduates of 1957, started school in 1949. Our first grade teachers were Mrs. Silva, Mrs. Duponte, and Mrs. Andrade. Our second grade teachers were Mrs. Susu-Mago, Miss Parker, and Mrs. Rego.
Unfortunately, we do not have a record of the pupils who were with us in the first and second grades.
Our teachers in the third grade were Mrs. Doty, Mrs. Hasse, and Miss Nolan. During that year Diana Markham, Brenda Yaji, Elizabeth Thompson, Carolyn Stender, and Charmaine Tavares joined us. Carol Watanabe, Douglas Bell, Mervin Bal, Frank Kovacic, and Ardith Marciel had to leave us.
In the fourth grade, our teachers were Mrs. Romanchek, Miss Kirk, and Mrs. Enos. In that year Gordon Rodriguez, Patrick Sylva, Leslie Ambrose, James Bruce, and Erl Kepner joined our class. Melanie Barnes, Elizabeth Thompson, Judith Ogawa, Edward Abrew, Penelope Titcomb, Brenda Yaji, Robert Hashimoto, Bill Bates, and Michael Ruth left our class.
Our teachers in the fifth grade of 1953 were Mrs. Ownsby and Mrs. Hughes. Lorna Lei Chang, Tanya Zalopany, Sharon Roberts, Nan Guslander, Ronnie Ross, and Bill Bates joined us. Those who left us were Carolyn Stender, Jeffrey Watanabe, Linda Kim, Victor Kinoshita, and Gordon Rodriguez.
Coming in, in 1954, during our sixth grade year were Eugene Sakae, Douglas Moniz, Sonja Rockstead, Linda Sinnott, Henry Meyer, Marshall Williams, and Barbara Fujimoto. Leaving us were Donald Torgerson, Kenny and Linda Stewart, Erl Kepner, Dennis Katsura, Marshall Williams, and Arlette Shibasaki. Through the help of Mrs. Hawk, Mr. Hatanaka, and Mrs. Lillie we got through the sixth grade.
Mrs. Yanagida, Mr. Tavares, Mrs. Davis, and Mr. Yoshimori taught us, at least tried to, in the seventh grade. Annette Wilson joined us. Leaving were Evelyn Onishi, Louella Eldredge, Linda Sinnott, Douglas Bell, Philip Moleta, Nan Guslander, and Glenn Clark.
During the eighth grade Susan James, Leilani Schwartz, and
Barbara Fujimoto left us. Now that we have graduated we are both
happy and yet sad for many of us will be separated from our dearest
friends and go to different schools. We'll say good-bye with a
tear, but we will not forget the good times and good friends we
made and kept. Here's hoping everyone of us succeed in life.
